Serving Roodhouse, Illinois
Roodhouse is the Greene County railroad junction town on US-67, founded by John Roodhouse in the 1850s and home of the Hotel Roodhouse on the National Register.
Local & Insured
The city of about 1,580 is twenty-three road miles and twenty-eight minutes south of Jacksonville, with US-67 straight through the middle. It started out as The Crossroads.
The Chicago and Alton opened a station in 1860 and ran its Louisiana branch from here in 1871, making it a major junction; it became a city in 1880. Passenger trains quit in the 1950s, leaving railroad-era silver maples and hackberries, alley walnuts, big bur oaks and dead ash on every block.

Why a Jacksonville Crew Comes to Roodhouse
Roodhouse is a straight four-lane run through Manchester, and we make it without a trip charge. Brooke groups Roodhouse with White Hall work so estimates come quickly.
Railroad-era streets have maples and hackberries grown up around the drops. We get the utility involved first, then lower each limb on a rope clear of wires and shingles.
Borer-killed ash is brittle and risky to climb. We work it from the bucket truck before it weakens further, and every branch goes through the chipper.
Big bur oaks hold the oldest lots in town. We check them for deadwood and hazard limbs and tell you plainly whether one needs more than a trim.
Not for a tree wholly on your own lot; Jacksonville's tree ordinance and trimmer license end at the city line. Roodhouse has its own city code, and we found no permit there for a home-lot tree; ask at City Hall before cutting one over a city street. Burn rules and the rest are on our permits page.
If a hackberry over your Roodhouse house keeps dropping limbs or a dead ash by the street needs to come down, call or ask for a free written estimate.
Type your town or ZIP and we'll tell you if the truck comes your way.
