Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Meredosia?

Not for a tree wholly on your own lot; Jacksonville's tree ordinance and trimmer license end at the city line. Meredosia has its own village code, and we found no permit there for a home-lot tree; ask the village office before cutting one over a village street.
